If you should therefore introduce yourself to a young lady, do not start off the discussion with a ten minute speech about how well you can negotiate the waves with your new surfboard. Rather ask her about herself. She would love to hear that you are interested in her and her life.
The vast majority of woman also prefer men who are courteous. Do not go too far with this, but offering to carry her heavy briefcase or shopping bags will most of the time count in your favor. Don’t spoil the moment by remarking on how you feel you have to help the ‘weaker sex’ though…
