Insomnia is the inability to get a good night’s sleep at least long enough to feel rested the next morning. What follows is a sensation of daytime fatigue and being tired. The inability to think clearly and concentrate is impaired affecting performance of daytime activities.

Typically, people suffering from insomnia experience an inability to fall asleep in spite of being tired. They may achieve a light sleep that leaves them tired after waking or waking too early.
